Actions of the past affecting the present

Watching the news today, I've discovered some things. Babies are now being born at smaller weights. Children have a higher obesity rate. There is more violence in schools. Health insurance is ridiculous. Amazing that no one sees a connection. Because of women that think they should have the same opportunities as men, here's what happens. Women immediately go to school (college), then to work. They want to get settled in their careers, thus wait to have children. Since they wait to have children, then they have a difficult time getting pregnant when they decide they are ready. Having failed at conceiving, they resort to fertility treatments. Results in multiple fetuses. Results in lower birth weight. Results in greater health issues. Results in higher insurance costs. Another point...remove any reference of the 10 commandments, the Bible, or God from schools...not to mention, Heaven forbid anyone should PRAY in school. How much has violence in school increased since this happened? Remove physical education from the curriculum. Must focus on academics. Kids are fatter. And not necessarily smarter. Exercise stimulates the brain, increasing the ability to concentrate. Then, of course, since both parents "have" to work, kids are put in day care. More contact with other kids. More chance to get sick. Increase in common colds and visits to the doctor. Increase in insurance. See a connection? Both parents have to work. Kids get old enough to stay home by themselves (latch key sound familiar?). Give them a Nintendo, X-Box, Wii....keeps them inside and safe. Kids are fatter.

So, actions in the past - women working instead of having kids, both parents working instead of one staying home to take care of kids, removal of PE from curriculum, removal of any reference to God, Bible, and prayer from school - are now affecting the present - low birth weight due to fertility treatments, increased health care and insurance costs, obesity in young children, violence in schools. Can anyone put two and two together and get four??? Oh, wait - I guess that's subjective...does two and two really equal four? I guess if it's what you think it is, then that is right...but that's the topic of another blog...
